Happy Weekend!

Whether you're going out or staying in this weekend... why not consider doing the unthinkable!  Life is short yet filled with possibility and as I sit in my local starbucks, sipping my usual ice coffee drink and surfing the web, I am reminded of this very important, wonderful fact.
A year and a half ago I was sitting in my London flat, shying away from the winter cold, and decided to rent a movie.  I stumbled upon this one on iTunes and after reading the summary I was intrigued.  Based on a true story Man On Wire documents one mans drive to see a vision through to the end - a vision that reflected the unthinkable.  It was my movie of choice for that night and I was blown away.  It is a brillantly, beautifully produced documentary of an extraordinary true story.  In early 2009, it won an Oscar for Best Documentary.

This morning I read in an article in the New York Times that the man behind this amazing feat, Phillipe Petit, has recently held wire walking workshops at SLAM (Streb Lab for Action Mechanics) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  For those more interested you can read here.
If, instead, you fancy going out for a movie take a gander at my next post Eat, Pray, Love - opens today in the US.  I'm off to buy tickets now!
